“The very beginning is a very good place to start learning anything, but it can often be a very hard place to start too.”
Have you ever tried to…
teach a child to read?
help an elementary student with their math homework?
teach basic sewing skills to someone who has never held a needle?
If you have, then you know how quickly the beginning can become a place of confusion, frustration, and despair.
But feeling stuck and frustrated at the beginning doesn’t have to be the end. With the right guidance, plenty of practice, and a willing attitude, learners can move from confused to confident—or, as we like to say around Learning Nest, “from fledgling to flight!”
I love beginnings! That’s one of the reasons I started Amy’s Learning Nest, so I could do more of what I love: helping learners grow in the fundamental skills of literacy, numeracy, and fiber arts.
At Amy’s Learning Nest, I love to
help struggling readers of any age become independent readers able to enjoy and learn from books!
train learners in the “why” behind the “how” of arithmetic so their dread of math turns into delight.
equip aspiring sew-ists with confidence so they can create beautiful things with needle and thread.
Take a look around and see how I might assist your learner to move from fledgling to flight!
